It is the prevention of the person from participating in society. Such violence is the denial of one’s
access to health care, education and employment, and the deprivation of one’s civil, social, economic,
cultural, and political rights. Behaviors such as not allowing a person to work, to get a profession, to
confiscate one’s income, to work forcibly, to borrow money, to withdraw credit are forms of socio-
economic violence.
